Is chiropractic care safe for childrenAbsolutely! Despite the media’s attempt to suggest otherwise, Chiropractic has an exceptional safety record. As a conservative health care approach, it is particularly safe compared to drugs and surgery. our chiropractors have been trained at a university level to treat children from newborns to early adulthood. Techniques are modified for the safety and comfort of your child in relation to evidence-based practice. Published Research has shown that chiropractic, physiotherapy, manual medicine and osteopathy all carry a very rare but material risk (1). To minimise risks, our chiropractors perform a thorough history and examination of a child before beginning any care.

How often would I have to visit the chiropractorThe amount of visits all depend on the treatment you would be getting, as all patients are different and require specific needs. They are usually between 1-3 appointments a week for a 4-6 week period and after a regular check up every 1-2 months. All Chiropractors are trained to modify their approaches to suit the special needs of infants and young children. Our chiropractors work with your regular GP and will refer to them were necessary.

Do Chiropractors only treat back painChiropractors treat problems of the spine and nervous system. While many patients see us for back pain some patients report they can better manage a range of other health conditions when their spine and muscle system is relaxed and functioning well. Some of these symptoms include things like migraines, headaches, sleep problems, dizziness, fatigue, sinus and digestive symptoms. Chiropractic can also help maintain overall well being, rather than care for a particular problem. This is called wellness or maintenance care.

Does Chiropractic work for everyoneIf a trial of treatment makes no improvement or if systemic disease or illness outside the scope of practice of a Chiropractor are discovered during examination, a patient is referred. Usually the patient is referred to their general practitioner with a letter from the Chiropractor outlining what has been done and what findings have been discovered. Chiropractors often co-manage with other allied-health practitioners such as Dentists, Optometrists, Physiotherapists, Naturopaths, Massage Therapists, Psychologists, Acupuncturists and others.
